Supari, or areca nut, is the seed of the Areca catechu palm, widely chewed across South Asia, often with betel leaf (paan) or in sweetened, processed forms. It acts as a mild stimulant, used to curb hunger and aid digestion, but its consumption is linked to oral cancer risks. It is also culturally significant, used in Hindu rituals.
